Grockit Launches Learni.st
Exciting news from Grockit! Everyone’s favorite social network for learning has just launched their new site, Learnist (http://learni.st). Learnist enables users to curate online content and design a set of lessons that are as easy to navigate as the now ubiquitous Pinterest boards. Images, video, blogs, even full-length google books can all appear as part of Learnist’s Learnboards. Users are able to collaborate, leave comments, and share on Facebook, making it an engaging social platform (something Grockit knows a thing or two about!).
Because the site is populated by its users, the topics covered by Learnboards are diverse—everything from kitchen hacks and to where to find the best pizza in Brooklyn, to molecular gastronomy and principals of macroeconomics (with content from MIT’s OpenCourseWare)—making it well-suited for both traditional education (K-12 and higher ed) as well as lifelong learning.
While Learnist is still in beta, it will be exciting to see the site take off- especially if it allows teachers (and learners!) to easily take advantage of the explosion of online content currently happening.
