This week, we surveyed Education„ Insiders„ to get their take on the recently-proposed America's College Promise program and the Student Data Privacy Act. We also checked in on a number of K-12 policies to see if the State of the Union, Secretary Duncan's recent speech, and Senator Alexander's ESEA draft had a measurable effect on those issue.

We've created a summary infographic to provie a quick look at the key findings, and will be posting a brief report later today. Here are a few highlights:

  • 93% of Insiders„Ιbelieve that the America's College Promise proposal will not be implemented. The general consensus what that a large spending program is unlikely to make it through a Republican-led Congress.
  • 51% of Insiders„Ιthink that action on Student Data Privacy is likley, citing broadbased support for the protections from all stakeholders and both Republicans and Democrats. Those who were less optimistic pointed to the potential for politics to get in the way as the leading stumbling block for the proposal.
