Frank Catalano is a creative-yet-practical strategic consultant, veteran education technology industry analyst and widely published author. He primarily advises companies on strategy, marketing and branding. Frank has been both an edtech and tech company executive, including serving in senior marketing leadership roles with Pearson, ProExam (now part of ACT) and the SchoolMessenger business of West (now Intrado). He also has held interim marketing executive positions with McGraw-Hill, MetaMetrics and a number of other companies, and was a consulting senior analyst with MDR’s EdNET Insight market research service.
Frank is perhaps best known for his lively technology analysis and commentary for a number of media outlets, including previous long-running work for the tech news site GeekWire and the edtech resource site EdSurge. Frank also has written about the digital intersection of media and tech, co-authored two Dummies books on internet marketing and hosted a podcast series tying together tech with pop culture, science fiction and the arts.
Frank has been part of ACT’s ACTNext Advisory Board and—as a one-time broadcaster and long-time public radio nerd—the KNKX Advisory Council for the greater Seattle area, where he lives.
