Jim McCleskey brings over thirty years of experience in policy and advocacy to Whiteboard Advisors. He began his career on Capitol Hill in the 1980s as an aide to US Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan before returning to his native North Carolina as a budget and policy analyst for the Department of Health and Human Services.
From 1999 – 2009, Jim served as the head of the Washington office for the State of North Carolina under three successive governors.
At Whiteboard Advisors, Jim helps clients navigate complex health and education matters at the state and local level, with a particular focus on collaboration with governors and senior personnel at state agencies.
Educated in the public schools of North Carolina, Jim is a Dean’s List graduate of Duke University and the Masters in Public Administration program at George Washington University.
